Do you ever hit the brick wall.

Posted on July 14, 2024July 14, 2024 by Tim Brownlaw

Ever have those days where you have all these wonderful ideas, and when everything settles down, you can get some time to actually implement them and then all you do all day is “Hit a Brick Wall”.

Well, today is a bit like that.

It’s Sunday, it’s a rare day when everyone is either out or “hiding” somewhere and I can just sit down at the ole PC and start bashing things out…

While that’s wonderful in itself, what isn’t wonderful, is getting stuck on things I don’t have control over. And some of those might be of my own doing. I think there is a pattern here of wanting to do too many different things…

For instance, I’ve written a new Lead Magnet regarding the “Affiliate Dream” and I just bought the domain name “TheAffiliateDream.com”. But then I thought (maybe there’s too much thinking going on here…) well, I am a member of GlobalNPN so what I should do is to try out the Cpanel Webhosting that’s provided on that platform and document the whole process… So this is a case of not sticking to what works and trying too many different things.

BUT the purpose ( in my head at the time ) is to help promote GlobalNPN. Too Many Purposes methinks…

So the whole point of this exercise is to create a Lead Capture Page, Setup a Splash page and get myself some leads.

But instead, I’ve added the extra bits of “Document the process” , use a new unknown hosting platform and then do the “normal stuff”.

What has happened is it’s taking a while for the new domain name to propagate… I think!

Now on a good day I usually use Cynderhost for my hosting and after registering my domain name on Dynadot,, it’s a simple matter of going through the steps, 1,2,3 and we are done. On a good day that is!

Waiting for a domain to propagate these days usually takes the time you need to fill in the bits that need filling in. In this case, my flow has been halted due to such a looooong delay, which kind of leaves you thinking… Oh No What have I messed up?

I have checked and rechecked, as one does, and all I can do now is wait… Which kind of sucks cause I just love getting things done. Or is that what sucks! Be patient Tim!!!!!

So in the meantime, I thought well I have another domain to setup so I’ll go and put that on my GVO Hosting I am trying out. And after getting the site all setup and ready to go on the hosting and changing the name servers in Dynadot, I discovered I had set up the wrong domain name…

Which just shows that, You NEED TO DOCUMENT WHAT YOU ARE DOING! Which is just me yelling at myself, as I normally document everything… just not this time and that’s ended up with someone having his bum bitten by not doing what he should be doing. (I hope I am paying attention)

There is a light at the end of…

So instead of having a major meltdown, why not just write about it on here. Get my thoughts together, create the new folder in my projects folder, crank up the ole Libreoffice Writer and start writing down what I need to do and what I ended up doing.

But in regards to “Hitting A Brick Wall”, always take this as a opportunity to learn from. To put a positive spin on the situation, if you aint Hitting Brick Walls, then you are not doing enough and the real fun part is being able to look back at that time from a place where it all turns out grandly. Plus you get to write about it.

So, now that I’ve calmed down and hopefully inspired myself, it’s time to get back into it.

All the best with what you are doing and keep the ole chin up, no matter what gets thrown in your path on your journey to where you want to get to.
